The Florida Everglades National Park is a natural complex of subtropical and partially tropical marshland on the southern tip of the Florida peninsula, where many endemic species of plants and animals, such as the mangrove, southern evergreen oak, Florida puma, and the ostro, can be found. Back in 1934, this unique natural area was granted the status of a National Park. But real conservation activity began here many years later, when the negative impact of agricultural activities and swamp drainage led to dangerous changes. In 1979, the Everglades Park was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and became a “wilderness area” where no economic activity is conducted.

Today, Everglades National Park covers an area of 6110 km2. There are many natural areas on this territory, such as swamps and wetlands, mangroves, and pine forest.

Gator Park or Alligator Park is a part of the Everglades Park, where tourists are offered water excursions in canoes or gliders with propellers, where they can see a unique ecosystem called a grassy river. You can also watch entertaining and informative shows, hold a real crocodile (or rather, a crocodile) in your arms, and take pictures with it.

The park is open to tourists who can arrive through different entrances. The territory can be explored on foot, by bicycle, boat or even by car. The peak of visits is from December to March, when it is not hot and mosquito activity is reduced.
