Crandon Park is a large urban green space covering 327 hectares on the northern tip of Key Biscayne. Until 1940, the area was home to William J. Matson’s extensive coconut plantations. The Matson family donated this land to the county to create a public park, but the process did not begin until after the end of World War II.
Crandon Park became a family beach famous throughout America, with 3.2 km of Atlantic coastline. The park features a marina, a golf course, volleyball courts, and designated picnic areas. Almost every day, groups gather in the park to celebrate birthdays or other events in the fresh sea air.
At the southern end of Crandon Park Beach, there are cozy cottages equipped with all amenities and parking, available for rent.
The park features the Tennis Center at Crandon Park, which seats 13,800 spectators, a family entertainment center, and the Biscayne Nature Center, where you can learn about local flora and fauna as well as local history. Walks through the sand dunes and palm groves offer a wealth of experiences.
