The Allure of the Seas is an Oasis-class cruise ship owned and operated by Royal Caribbean International. Until April 2016, Oasis-class cruise ships were considered the largest. The Allure has a sister ship, the Oasis of the Seas (they have nearly identical specifications), but it is 50 centimeters (2 inches) shorter. The ship was built in Finland in 2008. By 2009, it had already been recognized as the world’s largest passenger ship, taking the place of the Oasis of the Seas. In 2016, it was eclipsed by its sister ship, the Harmony of the Seas.
