Memorial Hospital Miramar

Memorial Hospital Miramar is located in Miramar, 30 km northwest of downtown Miami. It is a new, modern hospital that opened in 2005.
During the construction of Memorial Hospital Miramar, Mediterranean architectural style was successfully blended with lush tropical landscaping. The hospital has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that helps patients and visitors feel more like they are in a hotel than in a medical facility.

The maternity ward (Family Birthplace) includes:

  • 18 private LDR suites (labor/delivery/recovery), where women spend the prenatal period, give birth, and stay with their babies until discharge;
  • 29 postpartum rooms;
  • 3 cesarean section rooms;
  • 6 recovery rooms (recovery room or post-anesthesia care unit);
  • 16 private rooms in the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Level II NICU).

At Memorial Hospital Miramar, special attention is paid to the comfort and safety of both mother and child. The rooms are equipped with medical equipment and stocked with everything necessary for both the mother and the newborn. The rooms are decorated in soft colors and feature special beds for the mother and baby, a sofa bed for family members, a private bathroom with a shower, a TV, and a DVD player. In these rooms, mothers can relax in a peaceful environment, and if necessary, family members can stay with them around the clock.

Memorial Hospital Miramar is home to the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. The unit is staffed by certified neonatologists and nurses, and the young patients are housed in private rooms, allowing parents and family members to care for them in a private setting. State-of-the-art technology is used for resuscitation and the care of vulnerable infants.
