Today, Baptist Hospital of Miami boasts thousands of experienced physicians across various specialties and a highly qualified medical staff, as well as medical equipment based on modern, high-precision technologies. Family Birth Place

The birth of a child is the most important event in the life of a mother, and indeed the entire family. This perception of childbirth at Baptist Hospital is reflected in the name of the maternity ward, Family Birth Place, which, taking advantage of the nuances of the English language, can be translated as “a place for family births” or “a place where a family is born.”

Specially designed private suites with comfortable amenities ensure that women feel at ease before giving birth.
To ensure excellent medical care for mothers and newborns, Baptist Hospital makes full use of modern technology. Obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and nurses are highly qualified and provide patients with great attention and care, offering the professional support needed at every stage of labor.
Family Birth Place has a separate section for patients with complications, where special care is provided for high-risk pregnant women: those with hyperemesis, kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, preeclampsia, or the threat of preterm labor.
The hospital’s philosophy encourages partner-assisted births, as well as support and involvement from all family members.

Every woman receives informative support and breastfeeding education both before delivery and after the baby is born and discharged home.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Weak, premature, or preterm babies are admitted to the George Batchelor and Gloria Vasta Lewis Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where they are cared for by a team of highly qualified neonatologists and specially trained nurses. Baptist Children’s Hospital is one of the few hospitals in Miami-Dade County with a Level III NICU to care for the smallest and most vulnerable infants.

Since 1998, Miami Baptist Hospital has held the prestigious “Magnet Hospital” designation, awarded by the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet Recognition® from the ANCC is the highest and most prestigious distinction a healthcare organization can receive for outstanding service and high-quality patient care. Only 8% of hospitals in the U.S. have received Magnet Recognition®.
