How to score big discounts at Miami malls and outlets?
Sales are held year-round. Prices are usually significantly reduced at the end of the season to clear shelves for new collections (Clearance Sale). Prices drop when a new store opens, when a store moves, or when it closes (Grand Opening, Moving Sale, and Going Out of Business, respectively). Also, in all stores in Miami, as in the rest of the U.S., major sales are held before national holidays such as Memorial Day (the last Monday in May) and Independence Day (July 4). Short-term sales are held before other holidays (for example, Valentine’s Day, Labor Day—the first Monday in September, and the end of the summer season).
Twice a year (December–January and August–September), you can stock up on great deals during massive sales, when discounts of up to 70% are offered on all items. Thanksgiving takes place on the last Thursday of November, followed by the famous “Black Friday”, which marks the start of the winter sales season. (Note: on this day, it is highly inadvisable for pregnant women to go into stores—you might get trampled ☹) Christmas sales, which don’t end until mid-January, are famous for their most attractive discounts.
Shopping in Miami is almost a sport, and many Americans have become pros at it. Of course, you’ll be planning your trip to the U.S. around your due date, not the sales season. The most important thing in your situation is not to get too carried away, but to try to get the most enjoyment out of shopping.
Miami’s ultra-modern and comfortable shopping malls and stores are waiting for you! Happy shopping!
